Our Mission
By the calling of Christ Jesus to the ministry of pastor and subsequently to Calvary Baptist Church, it is my honor and privilege to serve as a minister and disciple of the LORD Jesus Christ. My heart and calling is tweaked through time as my life is being transformed by the glorious work of Jesus... my intentions and hope are represented to a large degree by the Apostle Paul:
1Cor. 2:1 When I came to you, brothers and sisters, I did not come with superior eloquence or wisdom as I proclaimed the testimony of God.
2 For I decided to be concerned about nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and with much trembling.
4 My conversation and my preaching were not with persuasive words of wisdom, but with a demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
5 so that your faith would not be based on human wisdom but on the power of God.

James Craft accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord when he was in the sixth grade. He was called into ministry in 1983 and has been serving in churches across Louisiana since then. He was married to his wife, Tracy, in 1995. He was blessed to have the opportunity to go to school, completing college, masters (MDIV), and doctoral (PhD) work. He began serving as pastor of Calvary in December of 2003.
